Manali is a picture-perfect hill resort at an altitude of 1,929 metres. Pine clad mountains gradually close in on both sides of the Beas until these almost meet; and nestling in their shade, as though carved out of primeval forest, is a scattered hamlet, which comprises this picturesque summer resort. Manali offers a surprising diversity of holidays, ranging from the lethargic to the invigorating. In recent years, it has beacon for trekkers, with its natural wealth and interesting trails. Anglers, too, find plenty of sport in the Fast-flowing River and streams of the region.
