1. What is Box Holidays?

SOTC Box Holidays is the registered service mark and a brand of Kuoni Travel (India) Pvt. Ltd. It’s a pre-packaged holiday you can buy for self consumption or gifting just off the shelf from a store, online or through our call centre.

2. What are the benefits of buying a Box Holiday?

Convenient: Box holiday helps you save both time and the hassle of checking with tour operators/travel sites to plan a holiday. You get total information on the holiday on the outside of the box itself viz. Price, Validity period, service inclusions & exclusions, complimentary offer, loyalty benefit, discounts, Cancellation rules, Hotel images, etc. It also provides you the flexibility of choosing any travel date within the validity period mentioned on the box.

Affordable: Box prices start from as low as Rs. 3555 PER COUPLE for domestic hotel packages and from Rs.48000 PER COUPLE for ‘All inclusive’ international packages. Box holidays also offer value deals such as free extra night stay and Children stay free within specified age groups. International packages enjoy price protection for the length of validity period mentioned on the box against airfare and foreign exchange rate fluctuations.

3. What are the destinations offered?

Currently we offer domestic destinations such as Lonavala, Chiplun, Shirdi, Goa, Shimla, Manali, Mussorie, Corbett, Nainital, Kausani, Hrishikesh, Haridwar, Ramgarh, Coorg, Mysore, Puducherry, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Vythiri, Yercaud, Yelagiri, Munnar, Thekkady, Karwar, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Puri besides international destinations like Thailand, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Mauritius.

4. What does the box contain?

Every box contains your quick start guide, holiday voucher describing service inclusions/exclusions, destination information, loyalty voucher, discount coupon, Complimentary coupon, visa , insurance information etc as applicable to different packages, besides booking form and freebies.

5. What is registration process and how do I do it?

Registration process refers to submission by the purchaser of box holiday important details such as passenger names, travel date, contact details, product code, voucher code, bill or receipt number, and passport details for international travel etc to SOTC to enable them to commence confirmation of tour services. This process is explained in detail in the Quick Start Guide inside every box.

6. How long does it take for service confirmation post registration?

On domestic holidays hotel confirmation voucher will be emailed within 24 hours of completion of registration process. On international holidays where visa is on arrival, flight and hotel confirmation and travel insurance document will be emailed to you within 3 working days of completing the registration process and receipt of full money against any add on service requests. On international holidays where visa is required prior to departure the travel documents like flight, hotel confirmation and travel insurance will be emailed within 7 working days of your submitting complete visa documentation post successful registration process.

7. What if the services cannot be confirmed for the chosen travel date?

In an unlikely event of your confirmation not coming through for the chosen travel date we request for alternate date or accommodate you in a similar category property. If you are not agreeable to any of the alternatives full money is refunded by cheque.

8. Can I request for changes in the package inclusions in the box?

The services included in the box holiday cannot be amended. However you can request for addition of more passengers viz. children or extra adult, additional sight seeing , additional transportation requirements or Add on package by paying requisite price thereof as advised by the call centre. As regards airline seats on international sector tickets will be issued for your chosen travel date, airline and flight timing will be as per availability.

9. Do I have to pay anything more than the price appearing on the box?

Yes only on domestic box holidays you need to pay 2.58% GST extra on the price mentioned. On international holidays you pay just the price on the box and on some destinations a peak season supplemental cost.

10. What if I cannot avail the holiday after buying the box holiday?

Cancellation charges for unused box holiday will apply as under:

  • 20%: If you fail to complete registration process within the validity period on the box.
  • 100%: If you fail to complete the registration process and the validity of the box has expired.
  • If you cancel after registration process and confirmation of services cancellation charges will be levied as per supplier’s policies which can go up to 100%.
11. Can I gift a Box Holiday?

Yes absolutely! It’s an ideal gift on special occasions like wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation, valentine day etc. in the lives of your loved ones. It also makes excellent corporate gifting idea. In the unfortunate and unforeseen event of you not able to consume the holiday yourself it presents itself as a good gifting opportunity and saves you the cancellation fee.

12. What is the Loyalty voucher and how do I redeem it?

Loyalty voucher in the box can be redeemed against purchase of any SOTC holiday of a minimum specified value within 12 months of your purchasing the box holiday. The voucher cannot be redeemed on future purchases of Box holiday.

13. How is my visa processed?

International box holiday contains VISA GUIDE giving relevant information and procedure for doing your visa. For Mauritius and Hong Kong, visa will be stamped on arrival on the strength of your return ticket, hotel confirmation voucher and foreign currency equivalent to 500 USD on person. For Thailand: Besides the above mentioned requirements you would need to pay a visa fee of 1000 THB per person at the immigration. For Dubai and Malaysia we will process the visa for you in India after receiving your complete visa documentation.

14. What is the check in / check-out time in hotels?

Standard check-in time at all international properties is 1400 hours and check-out time is 12 00 hours. For domestic hotels check in time is 12 00 hrs and checkout time is 10 00 hrs though it may vary for some specific hotels.
